Garden Route Deliveries — Routes & FAQ
Partner serviced via Farmfresh, George · All pricing ex-VAT · Effective 1 March 2026
The Frozen Food Courier now reaches the Garden Route. Because these towns sit outside our own-fleet area, the route works as a relay: we run the long leg from Cape Town to George on our scheduled transfer, and our George-based partner Farmfresh runs the last leg to your recipient’s door. This page explains how that works, what it costs, and who is responsible at each stage.
The basics
What does “partner serviced” mean?
It means the last-mile delivery is performed by a partner carrier, not our own trucks. For the Garden Route, we move your goods under our cold chain from Cape Town to George, then hand over to Farmfresh for delivery to the recipient. You deal with us for booking and the transfer; Farmfresh performs the final delivery.
Which Garden Route areas are covered?
George, Wilderness, Great Brak River (Grootbrak), Sedgefield, Mossel Bay, Hartenbos, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay. (Not an exhaustive list — ask us about a specific address.)
How do goods actually reach the Garden Route?
Think of it as a two-leg relay:
- Transfer leg — Cape Town → George on our Fridge Freight service, once a week on a Wednesday, under continuous refrigeration.
- Last-mile leg — Farmfresh delivers from George to the recipient’s address.
Goods either start in Cape Town with us, or are consigned to us from Johannesburg or Durban first (see the route table below).
Routes
What routes are available to the Garden Route?
| Origin | Destination | What can ship | How it moves | Last mile |

| Cape Town | George + Garden Route | Parcels, half & full pallets | Fridge Freight (weekly on Wednesday) | Farmfresh |
| Cape Town | George + Garden Route | Half & full pallets | LMC, Fridge Freight | Farmfresh |
| Johannesburg | George (via Cape Town) | Parcels | Fridge Freight (weekly on Wednesday) | Farmfresh |

Port Elizabeth and the wider Eastern Cape are a separate partner route (via Cool Running) — released once pricing is confirmed.
How do I get my goods onto the network?
- Parcels to the Garden Route: consign to us in Cape Town; we transfer to George (transfer fee applies) for Farmfresh delivery.
- Half / full pallets: consign directly to Farmfresh via LMC, or Cape Town → George via Fridge Freight / LMC.
- From Johannesburg or Durban: send consolidated via LMC (pallets), or Johannesburg → Cape Town → George for parcels.
Pricing & lead times
How is the price made up?
Pricing is itemised into the two legs, so the number reconciles no matter where the goods start:
- Transfer leg — Cape Town → George: R150 per consignment (ex-VAT, parcels, Fridge Freight).
- Last-mile leg — the Farmfresh delivery fee for the destination town.
Example — George (home delivery): R150 transfer + R127 last mile = from R277 ex-VAT. Current per-town figures are on the Rate Schedules page, which is the source of truth. Half/full pallet legs are rates on application.
How long does delivery take?
The Garden Route is not a next-day service. The Cape Town → George transfer runs once a week on a Wednesday, and routes are planned the day before from confirmed bookings. Please confirm the next available transfer with us before promising a date to your recipient.
Can I send pallets?
Yes — half and full pallets move via LMC (and Cape Town → George via Fridge Freight). These pallet legs are partner serviced and quoted on application; they aren’t on the standard rate table yet.
Responsibility & cold chain
Who is responsible if something goes wrong?
On partner and third-party legs (the transfer carrier and Farmfresh’s last mile), those carriers operate under their own terms, insurance and liability limits, and claims are made against the responsible carrier. Report any problem immediately at delivery, while the driver is present — once goods are signed for, they are accepted in their delivered condition. Temperature claims require an invasive probe measurement per R638. Full terms: Terms & Conditions.
Must my goods already be frozen?
Yes. Goods must be frozen solid (−18 °C throughout) before collection. Our transfer maintains temperature (around −12 °C) — it does not freeze goods down in transit. Packaging is the sender’s responsibility; poor packaging is the main cause of thawing.
